Since 1986, the M.B. & Edna Zale Foundation has supported individuals and families in building productive and meaningful lives. Today, our work is guided by a renewed strategic focus aimed at deepening impact in specific communities and issue areas.

We are a multigenerational family foundation, now spanning five generations of the Zale family across the United States. Family members remain actively engaged in the Foundation’s work, coming together regularly to guide our direction and steward our resources in alignment with our shared values.

As part of our recent strategic planning process, the Foundation has refined its grantmaking to concentrate on expanding economic opportunity for young people. Our primary funding supports workforce development and basic needs for youth and young adults—particularly those facing barriers to employment—in select geographic regions. This focused approach reflects our commitment to investing where we believe we can have the greatest impact.

In addition to this primary work, the Foundation continues to explore ways to support Jewish culture and continuity, building on our family’s history and values.

Grounded in a relationship-driven and community-informed approach, we seek to partner with organizations that are deeply rooted in and responsive to the communities they serve.
